The Shoalwater Bay Tribe, with support from Red Plains Professional, was awarded a $25 Million 2023 RAISE Grant for their Upland Development Project to support the first steps towards community relocation to higher ground. RAISE 2023 Fact Sheets_2.pdf (transportation.gov). The RAISE Grant will fund the continued design and construction of 3.5 miles of the main transportation and utility infrastructure loop. The Tribe has put in a lot of work to get to this point and it has been our honor to support them in the preservation and enhancement of their community which is at severe risk of tsunami, sea level rise, and climate change threats. The application was well supported with GIS Driven TTP Planning deliverables including the NTTFI Update, LRTP, Land Use Plan, Upland Development Feasibility Study, Environmental Assessment, and Conceptual Designs with modeling in AutoCAD Civil 3D to support responsible cost estimating. An ESRI ArcGIS Story Map was developed to tell the story of the history of the project which aided in the success of the application.
