Nooksack Tribal Transportation Planning, Engineering, and Site Development Support:
We worked to support the Nooksack Tribe in their development of a much needed regional medical center in Deming, WA. Red Plains was contracted directly by the Tribe and also as a subconsultant to KMB Architects for various components of the project to include: GIS-driven site investigation, preliminary planning, strategic environmental planning and NEPA (with our partner Adesa), traffic impact analysis with completion of the WSDOT Intersection Configuration Evaluation (ICE) Report, design of the resulting traffic calming roundabout on SR 542 Mt. Baker Highway coordinated with WSDOT’s Corridor Safety Plan, site transportation design to include interior streets and parking lots, County parking space analysis, and site design to include grading, stormwater, and utility design. This project paralleled other transportation related projects such as updating the Tribe’s comprehensive Long Range Transportation Plan, Roadway Inventory Update, Transportation Safety Plan, and Tribal Transportation Improvement Program. The rendering (1st image below) was developed by KMB Architects and it represents the proposed Nooksack Health Clinic.
